On Sunday, November 5, animation students were invited to the red carpet to welcome the stars from Paramount Pictures ‘Daddy’s Home 2’. Many students were able to take pics and collect the autographs of many of the stars from the film, Mark Walhberg, John Cena, Will Ferrell and Mel Gibson. After the red carpet welcome, students were treated to the movie.
100 Animation students attended Warner Bros. Pictures ‘Lego Ninjago Movie’ on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Fun was had by all and all students attending, walked the green carpet of the premiere!
Huge Congratulations to our King Lions 6th Grade flag football team!! First place victory in the East District Regional Finals, and now heading to All-District City Championships!! Thank You to our Beyond the Bell coaches, and all the great Lion athletes participating in after school sports!
Kudos to our school’s fabulous gay-straight alliance club for organizing a fun celebration of kids coming out as allies, gay, straight, best friends, …
Many volunteers manning the tables were current King families or King alumni. Some of the volunteer students are part of the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) at T.S. King. At the GSA, all students are welcome to discuss LGBT issues and launch anti-bullying campaigns throughout the school.
A huge THANK YOU to Mixed Co for a fabulous evening!
Almost 50 families (yes that’s over 150 proud King Lions!) mixed and mingled over artisanal pizzas and happy hour beverages at Mixed Co on Friday Nov 3, raising over $2,000 for our school (Mixed Co gave 100% of the ticket sales to King!). Special thanks to King parents Linsday Kennedy (owner of Mixed Co) for hosting and Sara Stein for the SoLA raffle bundle.
King celebrated International Walk to School Day Oct 4th!
A big thanks to Zero’s Unlikely Snack for donating a Snack Bag and congrats to our Walk to School Day raffle winner Willa Supple!
All Walk to School Day participants met up, shared breakfast treats, got a raffle ticket, a free snack ticket and walked to school together. Walk to School Day is a great way to celebrate active transportation to school, promote safety and reduce your carbon footprint!
The Curators invite all friends and families of King Middle School to attend the opening reception of the dual-themed art showDecades and Darkness in the art gallery, room 317, on Thursday, November 9, from 3:15- 3:45. In addition to art from all grade levels and all magnets, there will be music, food, and prizes! Come and support our student artists!
In Science, students in Ms Cutler’s 8th grade science class engaged in a hands-on laboratory experiment to learn about the relationship between mass and force as they apply to common objects from their daily lives.
