Bike To School Day – May 10, 2017
May 10th was National Bike to School Day and Thomas Starr King celebrated in style.
Thanks to all who made Bike to School Day a success!!!
CD13 staff for coming out and supporting
LAPD Bicycle Division for escorting our Group Rides
LADOT for providing water bottles, lights, maps, and patch kits
Los Angeles Bicycle Coalition for route planning and group ride leaders
Alta Planning for support and providing a group ride leader
The Bicycle Clinic for hosting two King Fix-It clinics
The Golden Saddle Cyclery for providing a Fix-a-Flat clinic and group ride leader
Pure Cycles for donating a beautiful new bike
We quadrupled our bicycle riders and had many students ride to school for the first time! Our riders arrived to school exhilarated and received water bottles, lights and tire patch kits. Our raffle winner was Anthony Lam, 8th grader FAM student, who got to take home a beautiful Pure Cycle black and gold fixie. For more information on riding in LA, pick up a Bike Route map in the front office or parent center.
